So we thought it would be helpful to break down a few of the first steps when starting the home buying process, and this applies to anyone interested in purchasing a home!
1. Find A Realtor
Find an agent whose ready to work hard for you. They will go over current market conditions, your search criteria, the home-buying process, and put you in touch with a loan officer, if you do not already have one.
2. Get In Touch w/ A Local Lender
Get pre-approved with a lender if you are not paying cash. They will help you determine what type of loan you should obtain, what you are approved for, and will go over the loan approval process.
3. Plan For Home Buying Expenses
Understand and start saving for those "up-front" costs. When purchasing a home, there are some out-of-pocket expenses such as your earnest deposit, home inspection, appraisal, and loan costs. Your agent and loan officer will be able to go through those with you!
